It's unclear simply based on observation where he's drawing the aether to heal-- but many of his spells certainly resemble a scholar's.Notes on Appearance: A red-haired Miqo'te at first glance, there is something very androgynous and ageless about Stari. His physical build is not masculine or feminine, but somewhere between, with boney shoulders and noticeable hips. ((Think Tilda Swinton, but short.)) His voice his more masculine than feminine, so generally people default to he/him.Occupation: Former employee of Continental Curiosities. Currently the head of Medical, Aetherflow Investigations.Interests: He's very ecclectic. He's a bookworm, he enjoys wandering and has a handy bit of wanderlust that usually has him going on long, meandering trips. He's either obsessed with Allagan ruins, or extremely adverse to them, depending on the day and his mood. He enjoys experimenting with aether and spellcasting, generally to the detriment of the buildings he's accidentally setting on fire when he does it.It may be related to the fact that he's a construct, but he often has a hard time with really abstract morality. To wit: Why not just steal from the very rich man? He clearly has more than enough to go around.

Fun Facts

  • terrible bedside manner, extremely analytical, very good at informing the injured of the precise risk assessment of whatever shit they did to get hurt. "Have you tried not running into knives?"

  • he's good at finding rare plants. but no one has ever seen him handing any materials over, or selling the plants he's finding... what he's doing with all those clippings?

  • likes head rubs but he's not going to admit it.

  • gets the zoomies at 3am like any self-respecting cat

General Notes on being a Weapon

Unit 02 (Stari) does not advertise what he is, but it's inevitable upon seeing him that one notices certain oddities. Below is a handy list of "tells," that some characters may have the means to notice. (Note: feel free to talk to me about any of these, I can explain in more detail.)

  • A faint, irregular flickering of light along his irises, similar to what one would see looking at an Allagan terminal display.

  • He does not often take his shirt off / expose his torso in public, despite the fact that he seems to enjoy public semi-nudity. (He does not believe in pants.)

  • An extremely irregular aetheric presence. From the outside he seems so aetherically-starved that he must be near death, despite appearing to be a healthy twenty-something. If an aetherically sensitive person touches him, they would be able to see his aether flows in thin circuits, like electricity through wire.

  • Though he has layers of synthetic flesh, he has a polymer skeleton and circuitry at his core. Any character familiar to machines, or able to sense machines, would be able to detect this.

  • I enjoy all kinds of content, mostly I want Stari to have friends and maybe a romance or two.

  • I am very flexible. I can do nsfw, dark themes, gore, etc. I will stay away from anything my rp partners are uncomfortable with!

  • I personally enjoy plotting & chatting about rp. It helps keep me excited about upcoming scenes, and gets my brain juices going. But I also love being surprised-- some of the most impactful rp is stuff that was totally unplanned. What is most important to me is that my rp partners are open to communicating with me outside of rp. c: Communication is key.

FFXIV Write 2022

  • Day 1 - Cross - Stari and Ushumgallu reconnect after Stari does nothing but avoid him for the two weeks he's been awake. Sari supervises.

  • Day 2 - Bolt - Not long after the events of Day 1 prompt, Stari returns to his quarters to find not everything is as he left them...

  • Day 3 - Temper - Ushumgallu is worried Stari is working too much. He does something about it.

  • Day 4 - (free day, skipped)

  • Day 5 - Cutting Corners - Stari does some routine maintenance on Ushu's core. Ushu, predictably, is not happy about it.

  • Day 6 - Onerous - A memory of Azys Lla, as seen by Unit 02.

  • Day 7 - Pawn - A second memory of Azys Lla. We see Unit 01 for the first time.

  • Day 8 - Tepid - Stari realizes he will need to travel to get answers.

  • Day 11 - Channel - Ushu goes to find Stari after he's missing for a day.

  • Day 12 - Miss the Boat - Stari and Ushu get passage back to Ul'dah. Stari has an unexpected encounter.

  • Day 13 - Confluence - Stari and Ushu have an argument.

  • Day 14 - Attrition - Captain Helgard has a conversation with his first mate.
